panasonic mc-ul815 upright bagless vacuum, November 24, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Panasonic Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Green, MC-UL815 (Kitchen) I spent about 3 weeks reading upright vacuum reviews - ended up buying one that did not have a single review. We had a problem to begin with - they sent me the 810 model 2 times before I received the one I ordered. I was looking for something lightweight, smaller cleaning path, and the ability to shut off the roller brush for bare floor and above carpet cleaning.
I've only used it two times and the jet turn takes a little getting use to. It has tremendous suction. It picked up a lot dirt that my old oreck passed over.
I like the red and green light - seems to work fine. The only thing missing is a wand to allow you to get the occassional spider webb on the ceiling. Noise wise it isn't too bad, it's quieter than my oreck.
I had a little problem figuring out how to get to the hepa filter and belt. It looks like they would be pretty easy to replace when the need arises. Emptying the dirt container is relatively easy. Overall I like the vacuum and for... Read more

This is a vacuum cleaner for the hearty and demanding. It is a semi-heavy weight and performs with vigor. I am a real fan of bagless HEPA filter vacs and this is one of the better ones.
This Panasonic cleans a path with almost perfection. To test it I cleaned the carpeting fully with my then favorite upright. Then the next day I did the same thing with the Panasonic and to my utter surprise I picked up even more ground in dirt. Mind you, it was not the heavy stuff we bring in from the outdoors but just daily dust and dog hairs. The volume in the Panasonic was considerably less than the first go but its presence suggested to me a better job at getting as much dirt as possible on each pass. The most important factor in a vac's cleaning is its cleaning. All else is either an add on or subtraction. Cleaning the carpet is a full 5 without equivocation. Since there are many excellent reviews are written already, I want to give quick summary of my experience.
1. THE PRICE. It will be little unfair to compare this vacuum with Dyson brand. That is like comparing iPad 3 with Kindle Fire. The price range is much different and so is the build quality. Since most of us are looking for value AND quality, Panasonic Bagless Upright vacuum meets that happy medium. The price is average for this class of vacuum.
2. THE POWER. The suction power (12 amp) is actually great! It picked up some dirt BELOW the carpet that my Bissel did not. You could see the things it picks up in the see-through container. Similar 12 amp powered vacuum does not pick up that much dirt, because of the design. Panasonic designed a "cyclonic" suction where it maximizes its power.
3. THE BUILD. For the price range, the build is solid. No loose parts. However, the due to "swivel steering" the vacuum will not stand upright, it will tilt to side a little. The... Read more
