Good Quality Vacuum, Way Better Than Bissell, June 6, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Eureka Suction Seal Pet Upright Vacuum, AS1104A (Misc.) I'm giving this 5 stars for the time being because it works very well, but I know vacuums decline over time (so my rating could change). I just received this Eureka vacuum in the mail today, and it works miles better than my previous vacuum, a Bissell. I'd had the Bissell for only about 6 months, and it had already quit on me. I thoroughly cleaned and washed all the filters, and it still wasn't working well enough to pull the dog hair out of our new rug (black dog hair and a cream colored rug, so the hair shows badly). So, I decided to replace the Bissell with a higher quality vacuum (the old one was only about $60, this Eureka is 3x the price, although I bought it on sale for $141). I've only used it once, but I'm pleased so far. It pulled ALL the dog hair out of the rug, and it looked very clean for a few hours (until my dog laid down and shed all over the place again.) I really like this vacuum. I have 3 fuzzy kitties, and this thing just goes house on the fur, the litter, etc.
You do sometimes have to reach up inside the canister when you are emptying it to get all the ick to come out (gross).
The cord is also short -- I have a small house, and can't do more than 1 room without changing the outlet.
The furniture attachment works really well.
It does clean up really well, and I'm overall quite happy with it.

I bought this in a hurry but I'd had good luck with Eureka uprights before. This one is just very cheaply made, not very intuitive to use, heavy, awkward and not that great at its job--picking up stuff on the floor.
Putting together--the directions are minimal, and much of the product is very cheap ill fitting plastic parts. Still can't get the canister locked in. The upside, is no tools are needed.
Operation: The directions are again kind of confusing. There are levers and knobs and dials in weird places that all seem loose and broken. The machine started up when I plugged it in. I couldn't figure how to turn the dumb thing off and then realized there's a skinny red lever that you push down with at about ankle level. I can tell that thing is going to break off soon. For whatever reason, it doesn't stay off. Next time I plugged it in, the vacuum started again. I would rather start it from the unit myself.
